Grade 3-6 Wrestling Progam

(Please fill in the attached permission form and have your child bring it and the $2 to Mrs. Peever in the office)

Last year in December, we had members of the Okotoks Wrestling Club, offer our students an after school Wrestling Club experience. This was a very positive experience for our students and community.

This year, from May 14-17, we have secured a certified coach, and a former Foothills School Division alumni, to come and provide an in-school wrestling program as part of our Grade 3-6 Physical Education Program of Studies (curriculum).

Josh Skory is a provincial champion and nationally ranked wrestler who now wrestles for the University of Calgary Dinos.  He is a fully certified wrestling coach and has lead tons of elementary wrestling clinics around the area.

He will be bringing with him a female wrestler who is also on the Canadian wrestling team and is also a certified junior coach.

Students will be learning the basics of wrestling and grappling that fit within our physical education curriculum – they will not be doing WWE  wrestling!

Students should wear shorts and t-shirts and bring a water bottle to physical education class during wrestling.

Josh will be providing the safety approved wrestling mats for the children to work on.

The cost of this program is $2/student.
